Unhealthy Food: Foods That are Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing
The health food industry is a billion dollar industry. Understandably many companies want a piece of that pie. We search all over the supermarkets for low calorie, low fat, no sugar added foods and we buy like crazy over a phrase written on a box. There are some foods that claim to be health foods that really are genuine. But there are so many foods that we would assume would help us to lose weight, when in fact they are hindering our bodies’ ability to lose weight. You may think that you are buying foods that will help your women’s fitness training and weight loss goals, but you are falling into a trap of foods that are wolves in sheep’s clothing.
The Wolves Attacking A Women’s Fitness Training
Anything that has low calorie, low or no fat, and no sugar added on the labels does not necessarily mean that they are a good choice for your women’s fitness training weight loss goals. Most of the low calorie foods are such because of the replacement of regular processed sugar with artificial sweetener. These artificial sweeteners have been a dieter’s best friend over the last decade. However, recent studies have shown that these artificial sweeteners are not all they are cracked up to be. The studies have shown that these sweeteners, since they are mostly chemical based, hinder our body’s ability to burn fat.
Low or no fat foods, also, can be deceiving. Even if foods are low fat they can be extremely calorie dense or high on the glycemic load index. This is detrimental to your women’s fitness training goals. When it comes to losing weight, it is calories in and calories out. If you have high calorie consumption, no matter how much fat you consume, you will gain weight.
Now the no sugar added foods don’t say that there is no sugar. They simply say there has been no sugar added to the product other than what is already naturally in the ingredients. There can ingredients in the product that naturally contain a very high amount of sugar. Don’t choose these products simply on that basis.
When purchasing any diet foods, look deeper at the ingredients. Read the label carefully, consider the nutritional benefits, and then make your decisions accordingly.
